Choosing Your Web Design Agency

Large or Small

There are advantages to working with both larger and smaller agencies. Larger agencies may have access to a bigger pool of resources and connections and be able to turn round development work more quickly. However, be wary that working with a bigger team of people means more of a headache when it comes to making decisions that suit everyone. Smaller agencies will provide a much more personal service, and they are more likely to have your best interests at heart. However, unlike larger agencies they may not be able to achieve such quick development turn-around due to a smaller workforce.

Having an agency based locally can make working together much simpler. There is of course the option of having video-conference calls on a regular basis, but nothing really compares to sitting down with someone and speaking face-to-face.

Price will always be a factor in choosing who you would like to work with. Some companies may offer you a quote way above your price-range, but at the same time be wary of companies offering you an absurdly good price. Web Design is one industry where you really do get what you pay for, so if it sounds too good to be true, it more than likely is.

Business is all about relationship building. Your web design agency is likely going to be a company you work with on an on-going basis, and over a long period of time. It’s important to try to meet the people behind the company first to see if you like them as people. Working with people you have a rapport with will make it far more enjoyable, and will undoubtedly result in a better product at the end of it. It also gives you an excuse to go out for a celebratory drink!
